Overview

We’re seeking a proactive and detail-oriented HR Data & Insights Lead on behalf of our client in Central Birmingham to join a progressive HR team recognised for its commitment to excellence and innovation.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a data-focused HR professional who thrives on translating numbers into meaningful stories that shape business strategy. You’ll play a pivotal role in enabling data-driven decision making, delivering insights that drive performance, efficiency, and engagement across the workforce.

The Role

In this position, you’ll be responsible for owning and enhancing HR data reporting and analytics, working closely with stakeholders to deliver impactful insights. You’ll analyse complex data-sets, design and maintain dashboards, and provide actionable intelligence to support strategic workforce planning and continuous improvement initiatives. Your work will directly influence business decisions around productivity, retention, and talent optimisation.

Responsibilities
  • Lead the development of HR data models, dashboards, and reports that track key workforce metrics.
  • Partner with senior HR and business leaders to interpret data and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Provide data-driven recommendations that inform workforce strategy, cost management, and talent development.
  • Ensure data quality, integrity, and compliance across multiple HR platforms.
  • Translate complex data into engaging visual insights and concise business narratives.
  • Support HR transformation projects and the introduction of new reporting tools and systems.
  • Continuously review and improve reporting processes to increase accuracy and efficiency.
About You
  • Proven experience within HR analytics, people insights, or a similar data-led HR role.
  • Proficient with HR systems and reporting tools (Sage experience advantageous but not essential).
  • Highly skilled in Excel and familiar with data visualisation platforms such as Power BI & Tableau.
  • Excellent attention to detail with the ability to interpret large data-sets and identify key trends.
  • Strong understanding of HR metrics, including turnover, absence, headcount, and workforce cost analysis.
  • Confident communicator with the ability to present complex data in a clear, engaging, and business-focused way.
  • Passionate about improving how HR uses data to drive better decisions.
