Ordnance Survey is seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to partner with our Technology leadership, shaping workforce plans and embedding change across the Tech 2030 strategy. You will coach senior leaders, manage complex employee relations, and work with the People Team to build capability and culture.
Hybrid role based in Southampton with four days on-site. The role requires strong data literacy, stakeholder influence, and the ability to translate strategy into concrete people actions
HR Business Partner – Technology Full Time | 18-month Fixed-term contract £61,000 - £65,000 (depending on experience) Hybrid | 4 Days a week at OSHQ | Southampton
Are you an experienced HR Business Partner who naturally works as part of the team, sharing ownership of outcomes rather than acting as a consultant? Do you have the strategic insight and the practical, hands-on approach to help a large technology function shape its future? If so, we'd love to hear from you.
Our Technology function brings together around 400 people across engineering, delivery, architecture, research and AI. Over the next 18 months, the function is delivering our Tech 2030 strategy, which includes evolving our Enterprise, Geospatial and Customer platforms and services, moving away from legacy estate towards a holistic architecture, and building the technical capability we need for the future. As HR Business Partner, you'll work alongside the Technology Senior Leadership Team as a trusted thought partner and coach. You'll take a real sense of ownership of their goals and outcomes. You'll help leaders step back from the detail when they need to, bring an external perspective and constructive challenge, and then roll up your sleeves to make things happen. This role is about implementing change, not just recommending it.
This role will be based in Southampton and will require you to spend at least 4 days a week collaborating face-to-face with colleagues.
OS conducts pre-employment checks for anyone made an offer of employment, including identity, right to work, employment history and criminal record checks (via Disclosure & Barring Services (DBS)). Some of our roles may require additional security vetting. We will advise candidates during the recruitment process if additional vetting may be required for that specific role. This role requires the right to work in the UK at the time of application. Unfortunately, OS cannot provide visa sponsorship for this position.
Inclusion at OS Research shows that people from underrepresented groups often hesitate to apply unless they meet every requirement. At Ordnance Survey, we're committed to building a diverse, inclusive and welcoming workplace.
We are happy to consider any reasonable adjustments that people may need during the recruitment process, and you will be asked whether you require any during the application process.
