Job Description

As the HR Business Partner, you will deliver a proactive, hands‑on HR service at site level, partnering with managers to drive engagement, compliance, and people performance. Acting as the link between the HR Manager and site leadership teams, the HR Business Partner will ensure consistent HR practices while supporting wider business initiatives.

You will handle a diverse range of HR activities from employee relations to workforce planning providing practical support and coaching to managers. The HR Business Partner will also take ownership of recruitment, onboarding, and training coordination, ensuring a seamless employee experience throughout the lifecycle.

Key responsibilities include
  • Managing employee relations cases (disciplinary, grievance, absence, redundancy) in line with employment law and policy.
  • Advising and guiding managers on people management, performance, and engagement.
  • Supporting policy development, payroll accuracy, and benefits administration.
  • Coordinating recruitment, onboarding, and induction activities.
  • Conducting training needs analysis and compliance tracking.
  • Assisting with HR projects, organisational change, and engagement initiatives.
  • Maintaining HR systems and producing accurate reports for site and leadership teams.

As an influential HR Business Partner, you ll balance operational delivery with strategic input, ensuring HR adds measurable value across all functions.

Skills & Experience

To succeed as an HR Business Partner, you will bring:

  • Proven experience in an HR generalist or business partnering role, ideally within manufacturing or similar environments.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience managing employee relations cases end-to-end.
  • Excellent communication and coaching skills with a collaborative mindset.
  • Competence in HRIS systems (e.g., SuccessFactors, Kronos) and confident use of data for decision-making.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
  • CIPD qualification (Level 5 or above) desirable.
