Location: Hybrid working

Rate: £29.94 per hour

Contract: January start - 14 June 2026 - could become perm for the right person

Clearance: Basic DBS required

We are working with a large, forward-thinking public sector organisation that is undergoing expansion and investing heavily in its people agenda. With a workforce of over 8,000 employees delivering vital frontline and corporate services, this organisation is recognised for strong leadership, sound financial management, and a clear commitment to its communities.

Due to growth within the service, they are now seeking an experienced HR Business Partner to join their team on a long-term interim basis.

The Role

As an HR Business Partner, you will:

  • Act as a trusted advisor to senior leaders and managers across a diverse workforce
  • Provide strategic and operational HR support aligned to organisational objectives
  • Lead on complex employee relations cases including change, performance, absence, and disciplinary matters
  • Support organisational change, workforce planning, and service transformation initiatives
  • Interpret and apply employment legislation, policies, and best practice within a public sector environment
  • Use data and insight to influence decision-making and improve people outcomes
About You

You will bring:

  • Proven experience working as an HR Business Partner (public sector experience desirable but not essential)
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice
  • Confidence operating in complex, unionised environments
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills
  • A pragmatic, solutions-focused approach with the ability to balance risk and commerciality
