Job description

We are seeking an experienced Human Resources Business Partner to join our People & Organisational Culture team. This is a fantastic opportunity to play a key role in delivering strategic people initiatives across a high-profile local authority.

Location: Cunard Building, Brunswick Street, Liverpool, L3 1AH (Hybrid - 2 days office-based)

Contract: 3 Months+

Pay Rate: £30.00 per hour (Umbrella)

As the HR Business Partner, you will work closely with senior leadership and management teams to deliver people-focused strategic goals. You'll lead and influence key initiatives covering workforce planning, talent management, leadership development, and organisational transformation.

You will act as a trusted advisor, providing expert guidance on organisational design, restructuring, and employee relations matters, ensuring full compliance with policies, procedures, and employment legislation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Serve as the primary HR interface for aligned directors and management teams, commissioning support from wider corporate teams where needed.
  • Lead people-related initiatives including succession planning, workforce planning, talent and career development, leadership development, and employee engagement.
  • Support and facilitate organisational restructuring, including consultation with trade unions, redundancy management, and redeployment processes.
  • Provide high-level advice to senior managers on organisational matters, transformation, employment law, and organisational design, collaborating with the Employee Relations & Policy team as appropriate.
Requirements
  • Graduate CIPD qualification, or actively studying toward CIPD Level 7 (essential).
  • Demonstrable experience in a business partnering role within a complex organisation.
  • Strong knowledge of employment legislation, organisational design, and workforce planning.
  • Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.
