Location: Kingswinford, near Dudley

Salary: £22,000 – £25,000 (with incremental increases throughout the apprenticeship)

Hours of Work: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday (includes a 30‑minute break)

Reporting to: HR Manager

Start Date: We’ll work around you and your current commitments!

Human Resources Apprentice Programme

As a HR Apprentice at ABP, you will support the HR Manager and team with a range of administrative and people‑focused tasks, interacting with both internal and external customers. This is an exciting opportunity to learn about every stage of the employee life cycle, while working towards your Level 3 CIPD HR qualification.

What You’ll Do
  • Provide a service to all employees and managers, supporting the HR team with queries, requests and issues.
  • Learn about HR policies, UK employment law and legislation to support and advise employees and management.
  • Assist with administration for new starters and leavers, including monitoring site sickness and absence.
  • Support the provision of labour turnover information for the site and group.
  • Help with site induction and employee engagement activities.
  • Take an active role in Employee Focus Groups, charity events and the site’s Corporate Responsibility Programme.
Who We’re Looking For
  • No formal HR experience required – full training provided!
  • Interest in business and people, keen to learn and develop.
  • Excellent communication skills, adaptability and a positive approach to challenges.
  • Strong time management and willingness to continually improve.
  • Minimum of 5 GCSEs (Grade C/4 or above), plus a relevant A Level, T Level or BTEC in Business.
  • Intermediate IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
