Were looking for a Peopleand Education Assistant to join our dedicated team and help deliver exceptionaloperational support across the full employee and volunteer lifecyclefromrecruitment advertising and onboarding to learning and offboarding.

Contract: Permanent

Salary: HospiceBand 4, £27,485 (1) - £30,162 (3) per annum, CompetencyBased Framework. Starting at point 1

WorkingPattern: 37.5 hours over 5 days per week, Monday-Friday.

Based at: Cross site. Based at Heald Green, with one day aweek at Little Hulton

Main duties of the job

The People and Education Assistantprovides essential administrative and operational support to enable theeffective and compliant day-to-day delivery of People and Education servicesacross the full lifecycle of employees, volunteers and other contract holders.This includes coordinating key processes such as recruitment advertising,onboarding, learning, and offboarding, and responding to routine queries inline with agreed procedures.

By fostering strong workingrelationships with internal stakeholders and contributing to continuousimprovement, the role also supports the wider team in achieving strategic goalsthat enhance the overall employee and volunteer experience and organisationaldevelopment.

The successful candidate will be subject to a DBS Check at the level appropriate to the role, the cost of which is covered by the hospice. Any post holder within the organisation will be expected to undertake safeguarding training appropriate to their role and adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures. All staff must work in accordance with their statutory roles and responsibilities in relation to safeguarding in accordance with the Working Together to Safeguarding Children 2023, The Care Act 2014, and Prevent Duty 2015.

Job responsibilities

In this varied andrewarding role, youll be at the heart of our People and Education functions,ensuring smooth and compliant processes that enhance the experience of our employeesand volunteers. Youll work closely with internal stakeholders, respond toqueries, and coordinate key activities such as:

  • Respond to People andEducation-related queries via phone, face to face, Teams and email, providingaccurate information with reference to policies and agreed processes andprocedures, signposting to relevant team members as needed
  • Posting job adverts andsupporting recruitment processes
  • Issuing contracts and coordinatingpre-employment checks
  • Support the People BusinessPartners with case management activities, including preparing documentation,arranging meetings and tracking of actions where appropriate
  • Administering changes andmaintaining accurate records
  • Coordinating andadministrating education events and learning activities
  • Generating reports andcontributing to continuous improvement
Person Specification
Qualifications
  • A good standard of general education to a minimum of GCSE grade C / 4 A* / 9
  • CIPD Level 3 (or working towards) or evidence equivalent practical experience
Experience
  • Proven administrative experience in a busy, process-driven office environment
  • Experience handling confidential information with discretion.
  • Working knowledge of HR processes including recruitment, onboarding and leaver administration
  • Working knowledge of compliance checking processes including DBS, Right to work and safeguarding
  • Experience of using HR systems and databases including data entry, maintaining records and generation reports
  • Work confidently and efficiently with systems and data, maintaining accuracy and integrity
  • The ability to travel independently to our two hospice sites
  • Working knowledge of education / learning / training processes
  • Experience in payroll administration, such as collating and submitting monthly payroll information
