Job description
HR Advisor (RP0015)

Starting salary: £41,992, progressing to £45,089 with annual increments, inclusive of fringe allowance.

37 hours per week (hybrid working in the heart of Welwyn Garden City).

About the Role

You will support the provision of a professional, comprehensive Human Resources service to meet the Council’s strategic aims and objectives.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide expert guidance to managers on resourcing, employee relations, retention, engagement and wellbeing.
  • Produce reports and analyse key HR data for management, committees and external bodies.
  • Maintain and manipulate HR databases accurately, providing insights to support organisational development.
  • Develop, review and continuously improve HR policies, templates and procedures in line with legislative and technical changes.
  • Contribute to the Council’s statutory local government service environment.
Qualifications & Experience
  • CIPD Level 5 qualification.
  • Significant experience advising managers on complex employee‑relations matters.
  • Sound understanding of employment law and statutory local government service environment.
  • Excellent communication, highly organised and able to manage a varied workload to high standards and tight deadlines.
  • Ability to converse in accurate spoken English with the public.
