Job description
Overview

HR Advisor (RP0015). Starting salary £41,992 with progression to £45,089 through annual increments subject to satisfactory service (inclusive of outer fringe allowance). 37 hours per week (hybrid working).

In this generalist HR Advisor role, you’ll support the provision of a professional and comprehensive Human Resources service to meet the strategic aims and objectives of the Council. You’ll play a key role in supporting managers by providing expert guidance on resourcing, employee relations, retention, employee engagement and wellbeing. You’ll produce reports and provide analysis of key HR data for management, committees and external bodies. You’ll have the ability to manipulate databases with accuracy and produce data and insights to identify trends to support the development of the organisation. You’ll contribute to the development and continuous improvement of policies, templates and procedures to ensure that the HR service responds to legislative and technical changes and maintains up-to-date policies and procedures. It is desirable to have experience of and understanding of local government services and employee pay, terms and conditions; other experience in similar fields will be considered. We’re looking for someone CIPD level 5 qualified with significant experience advising managers on complex employee relations matters, and a sound understanding of employment law and the statutory local government service environment. You’ll be an excellent communicator and highly organised with the ability to manage a varied workload to a high standard and tight deadlines and work as part of a small team. The ability to converse at ease with members of the public and provide advice in accurate spoken English is essential in this post.
