Job summary

A public health service organization in Kilmarnock is seeking a part-time HR Advisor to provide expert support on medical workforce conditions and oversee a small team. The ideal candidate will possess a degree and substantial HR experience, along with knowledge of NHS policies and employment law. HR Advisor - Medical Workforce

Band 6 (£41,608 to £50,702 per annum) pro‑rata

Location: People Safety & Culture Directorate, Lister Street, University Hospital Crosshouse (office based)

Contract Type: Fixed term for 6 months

Hours: Part‑time 29.6 hours per week

Position: We are looking for an HR Advisor to provide expert advice and support on medical and dental terms and conditions, employment relations, and workforce projects.

What you will do:

You’ll work closely with managers and staff, ensuring compliance with policies and legislation, and play a key role in implementing new contracts and supporting national initiatives. You’ll also supervise a small team and deputise for the HR Manager – Medical Workforce when required. This is an exciting time to join our medical staffing team as we undertake a review of our business processes and procedures to make sure these best meet the needs of the organisation.

Knowledge, training and/or experience required to do the job:

You’ll be educated to degree level (or equivalent) along with significant HR experience and be a CIPD member. You’ll have knowledge of employment law, NHS workforce structures, and ideally medical staffing policies, and complement this with excellent communication, organisation and leadership skills.
