About the role

This role is being offered on a 12‑month fixed‑term contract basis.

Join our HR team in Brighton where youll provide hands‑on support across a broad range of HR activities. From advising managers and managing employee relations to maintaining data delivering training and contributing to wellbeing and culture initiatives.

  • Providing end‑to‑end HR advice and support to managers including formal procedures and casework.
  • Producing and analysing HR data to identify trends and support decision‑making.
  • Leading on culture and wellbeing conversations following employee survey results and working with managers to drive improvements.
  • Maintaining and developing the HR database ensuring accuracy and compliance with data protection and cyber security standards.
  • Supporting the drafting communication and training of HR policy updates and legislative changes.
  • Coaching managers to build capability and confidence in handling HR matters.
  • Planning and delivering wellbeing events in collaboration with the Events Manager and EDI Group.
  • Coordinating activities of Paxtons mental health first aiders with the Health & Safety Manager.
  • Acting as a visible and positive role model across our Brighton and Eastbourne sites.
  • Working on cross‑functional projects to build capability and promote the HR brand.
What are we looking for
  • Previous experience in a generalist HR role or similar with a good understanding of HR processes policies and procedures.
  • Comfortable working with data systems and supporting operational tasks like payroll and benefits.
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to working with managers and teams.
