Job summary

Lookers is recruiting an HR Advisor in Newcastle upon Tyne to support managers with employee relations, disciplinaries, grievances and performance management. You will ensure up-to-date records, provide timely policy guidance, and help drive compliant HR processes across the business.

You will reference Occupational Health when needed, assist with reasonable adjustments, and contribute to updating policies, letters, and templates in line with legislation and business needs.

Qualifications

  • Experience in managing the full range of employee relations cases including disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management, flexible working requests.
  • Ability to influence and challenge where appropriate.
  • Confident to make decisions independently, providing solutions and anticipating/overcoming challenge.
  • Ability to build relationships with a variety of people in a changing & diverse environment.

Responsibilities

  • Support managers in the management of all employee relations matters including disciplinaries, grievances, performance management and absence management.
  • Provide timely advice and support to people managers in line with current policies and procedures.
  • Refer employees to Occupational Health where required and support managers with reasonable adjustments.
  • Support HR Managers on complex people matters including allegations of gross misconduct.
  • Ensure HR records and the ER tracker are up to date with all related documentation.

HR Advisor, Newcastle upon Tyne.
Role Purpose:

To provide sound HR advicetolinemanagerson all employee relations mattersand ensure the development and implementation of effective HR policies and processes.

Role Accountabilities:

Support company managers in the management ofallemployee relation matters including disciplinaries, grievances, performancemanagementand absence management.

Providetimelyadvice and support to people managers in line with current policies and procedures.

Refer employees to Occupational Healthwhererequired, and support managers with implementing reasonable adjustments.

Support the HR Managerson complex people mattersincludingallegations of gross misconduct.

Ensure that all employee relation matters are recorded on theER trackerand all relating documentation is saved against the employee record.

Identifyand manage any trends in employee relationdata or casesand work with HRManagerto review and reduce concerns.

Ensure the bank of template letters and guidelines are kept up to date in line with legislation and business requirements.

Ensure the company policies are up to date and support in updating them asrequired.

Qualitycheckthe approachpeople managers take to ensure these are in line with currentpolicies andprocedures.

Keep up to date with employment law/legislation changes anddemonstratecontinuous professional development.

Support in any other general project work asrequired.

Skills, Knowledge, Experience:
Essential

Previousexperience working in a similar role.

Experience in managing the full range of employee relations casesincluding:disciplinary, grievance, performance management, absence management, flexible working requests.

Ability to influence and challenge whereappropriate.

Confident tomake decisions independently, providing solutions andanticipating/overcoming challenge.

Ability to build relationships with a variety of peopleand an ability to work in a changing & diverse business environment.
