Job description

We have the pleasure of recruiting for a HR Advisor for a company based within the Newark area.

This role is Monday to Friday, full time office based with a small amount of travel to their other site so a full UK driving licence is required. Ideally 9-5 but there is flexibility.

You will be joining an established business within this fast paced manufacturing and production sector and be reporting into the Group HR Director.

This role will suit someone ready to take on more responsibility and development in career and would appeal to someone who has been in an Advisory role for a short period of time or in a smaller business and wanting to move into a larger and more demanding business.

Starting salary £28k, 25 days annual leave plus bh. The role over time will have plenty of scope for development across the business and wider group.

The most suitable person for the HR Advisor role will be someone that is confident, willing to learn and develop, self starter and an excellent communicator.

Day to Day responsibilities
  • Provide professional, proactive, and comprehensive HR support to the business, acting as the first point of contact for all HR-related matters.
  • Employee relations casework, recruitment, and compliance activities while contributing to HR policy development and business improvement projects.
  • Take full responsibility for disciplinary matters within the site and provide HR case management support on disciplinary issues across the wider Group, as required by the Group HR Director.
  • Advise and coach line managers, team leaders, and operational staff on best-practice HR approaches and legal compliance, supporting confident, fair, and consistent people management.
  • Collaborate closely with the management team across the factory and Team Leaders to support succession planning, resourcing, and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Oversee and deliver onboarding and induction processes to ensure new starters are effectively integrated into the business.
  • Support wellbeing initiatives and ensure effective management of sickness absence and attendance.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employees, ensuring HR queries are handled professionally, confidentially, and promptly.
  • Support the development, review, and implementation of HR policies and procedures in line with legislative updates and business requirements.
Qualifications
  • CIPD Level 3 or above - Desirable
  • Relevant HR qualification or qualified by experience - Essential
Skills
  • Proven experience in managing ER cases independently
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to engage confidently at all levels.
  • Strong organisational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
  • Strong working knowledge of UK Employment Law
  • Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities
  • Proficient in MS Office and HRIS systems
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills
  • Experience supporting HR across group or multi-site operations
