Role Overview

The HR Advisor provides professional HR advice and support to managers and employees across the South region, aligned with Cardo Group’s policies and legal requirements. The role supports implementation of HR initiatives, promotes a positive and inclusive culture, and ensures smooth HR operations.

Key Responsibilities
  • Build key relationships with stakeholders, providing HR advice and support for employee relations issues.
  • Assist in the management of short and long‑term absence, arranging welfare meetings, occupational health advice, and capability reviews to reduce long‑term sickness absence.
  • Own the full Employee Lifecycle, ensuring positive and effective end‑to‑end HR processes in collaboration with the Central HR Team.
  • Support the induction and onboarding process for new employees.
  • Prepare HR reporting and systems insights, including monthly metrics such as average sickness absence and turnover.
  • Liaise with the Payroll department regarding any queries.
  • Support management of employee relations cases, including investigations, hearings, and outcomes.
  • Assist the wider HR team with projects, initiatives, system developments, and reporting.
  • Respond to day‑to‑day employee queries and ensure compliance with HR policies.
Skills & Experience
  • CIPD Level 3 or above (or equivalent experience)
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a generalist HR role
  • Good knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practices
  • Proficient in HR Systems and MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify trends, risks, and opportunities in HR data
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Flexible and adaptable to change in a fast‑paced HR environment
