Job description
About The Role

We’re looking for a confident, proactive, and solutions-focused HR Advisor to join our growing team and make a real impact across the business. In this role, you’ll liaise with managers to navigate a wide range of employee relations matters — from everyday queries to complex casework — helping to ensure fair, consistent, and legally sound outcomes that reflect our values.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage a range of ER cases, including disciplinary, grievance, absence, performance, and capability issues.
  • Provide day-to-day advice and guidance to managers on people-related issues, ensuring they feel confident in handling ER cases.
  • Deliver training and coaching sessions to upskill managers in key areas such as absence management, conduct, performance, grievance handling, and informal resolution.
  • Act as a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, providing pragmatic, solutions-focused advice.
  • Own and maintain the ER case tracker, ensuring accurate data input, organisation, and accessibility for reporting and analysis.
  • Ensure ER records are comprehensive, accurate, and compliant with data protection regulations, maintaining high standards for data integrity and confidentiality.
  • Contribute to HR initiatives and projects that enhance employee engagement, wellbeing, and manager capability.
  • Provide administrative and coordination support to the Strategic HR Business Partners on key people initiatives, including consultations, restructures, organisational design, and other business change projects.
  • Support managers during consultation processes, for example by scheduling and tracking consultation meetings, providing documentation, and assisting with note-taking or follow-up actions.
Qualification and Experience
  • CIPD Level 5 (or working towards) preferred, or equivalent HR experience.
  • A proven track record of managing a wide range of ER cases, including complex cases, in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice, with the ability to apply it pragmatically.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to influence and coach managers.
  • Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining attention to detail.
  • A solutions-focused, commercially aware mindset, always looking for practical, fair, and efficient outcomes.
  • Confidence in using HR systems and data to track trends, report on ER metrics, and support decision-making.
  • Flexibility to travel occasionally across the UK as needed.
What we can offer you
  • Competitive salary
  • Eligible for company bonus scheme (annual and quarterly payments)
  • 25 days holiday (plus length of service increases) + 8 Bank Holidays
  • Holiday buying (up to an additional week)
  • Private Medical Insurance (PMI) for yourself
  • Medical cash plan for yourself - reimburse health costs e.g. dentist or optician, access to 24hour online GP services, discounted gym memberships
  • Pension scheme with contribution based on total earnings not just salary
  • Life assurance protection at 3 x salary
  • Employee discount scheme (discounts/vouchers for supermarkets, high street shops, holidays and more)
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) & access to Mental Health First Aiders
  • Employee referral scheme (up to £1,000 per referral)
  • Hybrid working (i.e. working from home and in the office) pattern
  • Support for development and training
