Job description
HR Adviser – People Policy Governance

Position ID 9242 – Fixed Term Contract until November 2027, 37 hours per week, £37,280 – £39,152 per annum, Scale I, Norwich.

We are looking for a Human Resources (HR) Adviser to join our People Policy Governance team to support the development and implementation of our HR employment framework. This includes policy development, supporting our pay and recognition strategy, project work and other related HR activities.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement the HR employment framework within the reward and recognition specialty.
  • Work across the People Policy Governance team on employee benefits, salary sacrifice schemes, pay award implications, auditing, pension changes and pay‑related policy development aligned to the reward and recognition strategy.
  • Research and act on findings, cost options, draft reports and policy documents.
  • Ensure accurate record processing and record keeping; perform checks for accuracy and correctness.
  • Communicate persuasively, clearly and concisely with staff and stakeholders.
  • Lead discussions and consultations with relevant trade unions.
  • Work closely with HR colleagues and other key stakeholders, including conducting consultations related to employment terms and conditions.
  • Use Microsoft Word and Excel to write reports, update and locate information from large spreadsheets and check communications and web content for accuracy.
Qualifications
  • Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development level 5 or above professional qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Previous experience of research and excellent computer skills, including Microsoft Word and Excel.
  • Experience in HR policy development, pay and reward systems.
  • Strong communication skills, persuasive and detail‑oriented.
  • Knowledge of employment terms and conditions and the ability to lead discussions and consultations with trade unions.
