Job description
HR Adviser (Part-Time)

Location: Rotherham (S65)

Salary: £40,000 FTE (pro rata, open to discussion for strong experience)

Hours: Part-time - approx. 0.7 FTE (every morning essential, flexible pattern available)

Start Date: December or January (to allow handover flexibility)

Our client is an independent specialist day college for young people aged 16-25 with complex special educational needs.

We're looking for an experienced HR Adviser to join their leadership team and help shape a supportive, positive environment for both staff and learners.

Directly reporting to the CEO, this is a hands‑on advisory role where you'll be the go‑to person for all HR matters guiding the senior management team and staff across the full employee lifecycle.

What you'll be doing
  • Providing clear, practical advice on all day‑to‑day HR issues
  • Managing contracts, policies, compliance, and employee relations
  • Supporting managers with casework, restructures, and change management
  • Reviewing and improving HR processes and documentationWorking closely with the CEO and senior leadership team
What we're looking for
  • Significant hands‑on HR experience
  • Confident, pragmatic adviser who can handle a wide range of HR matters
  • Excellent people skills: visible, approachable, and credible across the organisation
  • Able to work independently and manage workload in a small but busy environment
  • Experience with Peninsula HR (or similar) would be a bonus, but not essential
  • You don't need to be CIPD‑qualified or have education experience, strong HR skills and sound judgement are what really matter here

Hours - you will need to be on site M/F from 08:00 till 12:30 the rest is flexible.
