Are you an HR adviser looking to develop? Do you enjoy working in a small team where you can really make a difference? Can you help make good HR practice into reality for busy line managers and colleagues?

We're looking for an experienced HR Adviser to join our busy Human Resources team. Reporting to our HR Director, you'll bring a combination of skills, qualities and experiences including:

  • People skills – excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with empathy and understanding to handle employee concerns and conflicts
  • Sound knowledge of UK employment law – encompassing employment legislation; ACAS, HMRC and CIPD codes of practice and relevant guidance (e.g. Keeping Children Safe in Education); contract law and discrimination rights
  • Recruitment and talent management – able to support line managers with attracting, selecting and retaining our talent in line with the development of our EVP; providing guidance on effective interviewing, onboarding and continuing professional development
  • Employee relations – support and advise on disciplinary/grievance cases and absence management; coaching line managers on how to create and maintain a positive culture and work environment
  • Policy development – assist with the development and implementation of HR policy and practices that align with organisational goals and strategies; identifying areas for improvement based on an evidence‑based approach
  • Adaptability – able to be flexible to respond to and manage diverse situations, whilst remaining focused on longer‑term plans; keeping up to date with industry trends and developments within the HR profession
  • Ethical conduct – upholding confidentiality and integrity, and promoting the fair treatment of employees at all times
