Job summary

Howdens Joinery Limited is seeking an HR Administration professional to deliver a comprehensive HR service across the employee lifecycle from our Howden site. You will handle records in Workday, respond to DSARs, and support managers with HR processes and self-service tasks.

The role requires experience in HR or shared services, strong data protection knowledge, and meticulous organisation to manage changing priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

  • Experience in HR, administration or shared services.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and documentation.
  • Experience using HR systems, ideally Workday.
  • Knowledge of DSARs and data protection.
  • Strong organisation and attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Provide a professional and efficient HR administration service across the employee lifecycle.
  • Maintain employee records and process HR transactions in Workday and related systems.
  • Process DSARs in line with legal and data protection requirements.
  • Respond to employee and manager queries professionally and escalate when needed.
  • Support managers and employees with HR processes and Workday self-service.
  • Manage maternity, paternity and adoption administration.
  • Support right to work compliance activities and maintain records.
  • Administer employee benefits and recognition programmes.
  • Collaborate with HR, Employee Relations, Payroll, Recruitment and Finance for seamless service.
  • Maintain confidential documents in line with GDPR.

Responsibilities
  • Provide a professional and efficient HR administration service across the employee lifecycle, ensuring all activities are completed accurately and within agreed service levels.
  • Maintain employee records and process HR transactions within Workday and associated systems, ensuring data accuracy, compliance and attention to detail at all times.
  • Process and respond to Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) in line with legal and data protection requirements.
  • Respond to employee and manager queries in a professional and friendly manner, resolving issues where possible and escalating more complex matters appropriately.
  • Support managers and employees with HR processes and Workday self-service activities, providing guidance and advice on administrative procedures.
  • Manage maternity, paternity and adoption administration processes, ensuring employees receive timely and accurate support.
  • Support right to work compliance activities and maintain accurate records.
  • Administer employee benefits and recognition programmes, including Loyalty Awards and the Cycle to Work Scheme.
  • Work closely with colleagues across HR, Employee Relations, Payroll, Recruitment and Finance to ensure a seamless service is delivered to the business.
  • Maintain accurate document management records and ensure confidential information is handled in line with GDPR requirements.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working within an HR, administration or shared services environment.
  • Knowledge of HR processes and documentation, with an understanding of how these support the wider employee experience.
  • Experience using HR systems, ideally Workday.
  • Knowledge of Data Subject Access Requests (DSARs) and data protection processes, with experience handling confidential information accurately and compliantly.
  • Comfortable handling changing priorities within a fast-paced environment.
  • A proactive and collaborative approach, with a willingness to learn and develop.
  • There is a continuous demand from the business for employee changes, new starters and leavers to be processed accurately and efficiently.
  • The pace at which the business operates means balancing speed with exceptional attention to detail is critical.
  • As a result, strong organisational skills, customer focus and a commitment to delivering high-quality work are essential to success in this role.

Location

This is a fully office-based role, based at our main site in Howden, East Yorkshire.
