Closing date: 23 February 2026

A senior leadership role shaping how housing expertise is embedded within adult mental health services, reducing homelessness and improving recovery outcomes across Sussex.

Sussex Partnership NHS Foundation Trust is looking for an experienced Housing Team Lead to oversee and develop our specialist housing service within Adult Mental Health Services. This is an influential system-facing role focused on ensuring housing is recognised as a core part of recovery, discharge planning and long-term wellbeing.

About the role

As Housing Team Lead, you will provide operational leadership and professional supervision to a specialist housing team working across inpatient and community pathways. You will maintain oversight of complex and high-risk cases, ensuring timely and effective housing interventions that prevent homelessness and support safe discharge. The role combines strategic development with day-to-day service coordination, partnership working with local authorities and voluntary sector organisations, and contribution to service transformation. You will play a key role in shaping housing practice across the Trust and supporting innovative pathways that improve patient outcomes.

Why join Sussex Partnership?

At SPFT, we put people first – both the communities we serve and the colleagues who work here. We’re proud to be rated ‘Outstanding’ for caring by the CQC, and in our latest staff survey 82% of colleagues told us that patient care is our top priority. You’ll be joining an organisation that actively supports flexible working, invests in professional development, encourages innovation, and values compassionate, inclusive leadership.

Why Sussex?

You’ll be working across Sussex – offering a mix of coastal towns, countryside and vibrant cities, with strong transport links to London and Gatwick, making it an attractive region whether you’re local or considering a move.

What we offer
  • Band 7 salary: £47,810 – £54,710 per annum
  • Flexible and hybrid working opportunities where possible
  • Ongoing professional development and supervision
  • Wellbeing support and staff networks
  • Generous annual leave and NHS pension scheme
About you

You will bring significant experience in housing and homelessness practice, along with strong leadership and partnership-working skills. You will be confident supervising staff, managing performance and contributing to service development. A strong understanding of housing legislation, health and social care governance, and multi-agency working will be essential, alongside the ability to balance strategic thinking with operational delivery.
