Where does the role fit in?

Maes Y Derwen is a warm, welcoming and friendly service providing supported accommodation to individuals aged 16+ experiencing homelessness. We work with a diverse group of people from varying backgrounds, some of whom may have experienced trauma and complex needs. Every day is different, you’ll be learning new skills and have the opportunity to work with a variety of agencies. We engage with the people we support through positive meaningful activities and provide a Psychologically Informed Environment.

Your role would be working with our clients to teach tenancy management skills and provide any other housing related support they may require.

Our team supports vulnerable individuals to develop key skills that help prevent homelessness, improve financial capability, promote resettlement into the community, and achieve positive progression. You will play a key role in enabling individuals to achieve their goals and empowering them to lead independent lives.

You will manage your own caseload, supported by the Manager, Lead Project Worker and the team. This is a varied, challenging, and rewarding role within a committed team delivering high-quality support.

Every day is different, offering the opportunity to learn new skills and work with a variety of agencies including housing services, DWP, social services, the police, and health professionals.

Your day will consist of:
  • Engaging and interacting with the people we support
  • Writing and following a support plan with the individual you are supporting
  • Delivering workshops relating to tenancy management and health and wellbeing
  • Liaising with external agencies
  • Supporting with external appointments to GPs and job centres
  • Organising and participating in activities and day trips
  • Dealing with any conflict that arises
  • Addressing any additional needs, the people we support might have.
  • Helping to provide and support the upkeep of a homely environment for our customers
  • Part of your role will also include sleep-in shifts at the scheme, where you will be provided with a secluded area with access to bathroom and kitchen facilities.
What are the pay and benefits?

Full-time (37 hours), Permanent position

  • Competitive salary of £26,072.00
  • Work Pattern: The scheme is covered 24 hours, 7 days a week so you would be expected to work on a 6-week rolling rota which would involve: days, evenings, weekends, and sleep-ins.
  • Additional payment of £62.64 for each sleep-In
  • Onsite free parking
  • 26 days holiday entitlement (pro rata) plus Bank holidays, rising to 27 days after 1 year’s service or cash equivalent of 1 day’s annual leave

  • Sick Pay, rising with length of service up to 6 months full pay after 4 years
