Job description

Ashberry Recruitment are currently looking for candidates to fulfil the role of a Housing Support Worker for our well-respected client based in Chester. The role is on an ongoing temporary basis for 2-3 months. 37.5 Hours per week, Mon-Fri, 9am-5pm.

Responsibilities
  • You will be required to work across the Cheshire area supporting both young people in accommodation and out in the community.
  • Manage a caseload.
  • Conduct weekly key working sessions.
  • Support young people to prepare for independent living and develop necessary skills.
  • Work closely with the social workers and the Leaving Care Team, local organisations, statutory services and support agencies.
  • This role also involves lone working and access to your own transport is essential.
Required Experience
  • Experience of helping young people with setting up benefits, developing independent living skills and maintaining their accommodation.
  • Ability and commitment to work as part of a multi-agency team to ensure young people in care and who are leaving care.
  • Experience of working with young people who may have complex needs such as mental health issues, drug and alcohol misuse, domestic abuse and offending behaviour.
