Job summary

Job description

Our mental health services have secured an accommodation on Alton Street. This accommodation will place 13 residents as a move on opportunity for the people we work alongside in our Mental Health services. The applicant will manage these 13 tenants, in addition to supporting the tenants living in Ullet and Norwich Road, with resettlement, community engagement and wellbeing. The applicant will also be responsible for building management, health and safety of the building, and will generally lone work. For that reason, we are looking for someone who is experienced with support work, and has a wealth of experience engaging service users, and an understanding of housing legislation in the city. The successful applicant would also be expected to have a visible presence, managing their diary to spend regular time in our alternative step down services (i.e Norwich Road and Ullet Road). The post holder will be expected to support with moves between services, ensure Housing Benefit is completed, and service users are managing their tenancy independently. The post holder is expected to have an interest in mental health and liaise with mental health teams, social services, amongst other professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Hold 1-1 support sessions with residents, focusing on resettlement, move on, and working towards complete independence.
  • Update risk assessments, support planning, case notes and maintain a keen understanding of safeguarding protocol.
  • Engage with professionals and other providers to provide a safe space to complete support sessions.
  • Build positive therapeutic relationships and ensure the health and safety of the buildings we manage, including weekly fire checks and timely reporting of maintenance concerns.
  • Work as part of the Nightingale Leadership Team, attending team meetings, facilitating reflective practice, and may be expected to supervise support practitioners in line with service needs.
  • Respond to emergency referrals and/or situations.

Salary: £30,170.22
Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 9‑5pm Monday to Friday with flexibility to work outside these hours if required to meet the needs of the service.
