Job summary

A reputable charity in March is seeking a Housing Support Officer to assist individuals at risk of homelessness. The role involves interviewing service users, assessing their needs, ensuring safe accommodations, and providing assistance with housing and benefit applications. The ideal candidate has experience working with vulnerable individuals and possesses a full UK driving license and an Enhanced DBS. This is a temporary to permanent position offering an hourly rate of £13.68.

Responsibilities

  • Interviewing potential service users, assessing their needs and suitability for accommodation.
  • Assessing risks and ensuring Service Users accommodation is safe and secure.
  • Conducting weekly key works meetings with Service Users.
  • Assisting with housing applications and benefit applications.
  • Resolutions of problems with regard to the payment of housing benefits.
  • Making referrals to specialist services e.g., Mental Health support.

We are currently working with a reputable charity that offers support to individuals who are rough sleeping or at risk of homelessness. The postholder will be directly supporting service users from application to resettlement and ensure that licenses are maintained throughout.

Location: March

Hourly Rate: £13.68 per hour (PAYE Inc holiday)

Contract: 3 months temporary to permanent

Hours: 37
