Overview

We are currently working with a council in the East of England, who are seeking a Housing Support Finance Officer to assist their Housing Support Accountant with day-to-day financial operations. This role is ideal for someone with experience in invoice processing, financial administration, and housing finance systems.

Role Details

Start Date: ASAP
Duration: 5 Months Initially (likely extension)
Rate: £25–30 p/h Umbrella (Inside IR35)
Working Arrangement: Hybrid (details TBC)

Responsibilities
  • Support the Housing Support Accountant with daily finance operations
  • Process invoices, credit notes, and purchase orders using Business Central
  • Match invoices to delivery tickets and purchase orders, ensuring VAT compliance
  • Maintain accurate records and manage the Housing Invoices mailbox
  • Liaise with suppliers to resolve discrepancies and ensure timely payments
  • Upload utility meter details and process compliance-related service invoices
  • Promote the use of purchase orders and provide guidance to colleagues
  • Assist with recharges and sales invoice processing
Qualifications
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial systems
  • Basic understanding of VAT and invoice processing
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • 4 GCSEs (A–C) including Maths and English or equivalent experience
