Job summary

Shelter in Sheffield is seeking a Housing Solicitor to tackle housing injustice and defend the right to a safe home. You will provide high-quality legal advice and representation under a Legal Aid contract and contribute to systemic change through strategic litigation.

We welcome applicants who are a qualified Solicitor with 3+ years PQE and a strong track record in housing law; flexible/hybrid working arrangements are available and salary ranges align with Grade 5/6 scales.

Qualifications

• Qualified Solicitor with 3+ years PQE in housing law and Legal Aid work.
• Deliver high-quality legal advice and representation under the Housing Loss Prevention/Legal Aid contract.
• Challenge unfair housing practices and drive systemic change through strategic casework and litigation.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality legal advice and representation under our Housing Loss Prevention/Legal Aid work, providing court representation when needed.
• Tackle housing injustices and systemic causes of homelessness through strategic casework and litigation.
• Collaborate with the Sheffield team to raise housing rights awareness and support Trainee Solicitors and Legal Advisers.
