A local government authority in Wales seeks a legal professional to handle housing-related legal work. Responsibilities include providing guidance on landlord-tenant matters, advising on homelessness issues, and supporting decision-making within the housing service. Candidates should have a thorough knowledge of Housing Law and a customer-focused approach. This role involves significant interaction with both internal teams and external stakeholders, making relationship management a key component of success.
To undertake legal work relating to all areas of housing such as litigious matters including property, leasehold and enfranchisement, Anti-Social Behaviour, disrepair, repairs and maintenance, possessions, homelessness, the allocation and letting of homes, bankruptcy, and general civil matters surrounding all relevant legislative and code of guidance issues, including housing Acts, landlord and tenant Law and other miscellaneous civil claims relating to Housing, To provide legal advice to the Housing Service on the following:
Experience of providing guidance and support to colleagues and housing legal team to enable effective decision making Demonstrates a responsive and effective customer focused approach An excellent track record of building internal and external relationships which deliver A thorough knowledge of Housing Law and corporate property Experience and good knowledge of Local Government Structures and Practices
