Job description

We are seeking an experienced Housing Officer to manage a patch of around 500 properties, supporting effective tenancy management, income maximisation, and safe, inclusive neighbourhoods.

Location - Coalville

An experienced Generic Housing Officer is required to work in the North West Leicestershire District Council area. Candidate is expected to be able to drive to properties in the District on required, any day of the week Mon-Fri.

Key Duties
  • Daily contact with tenants; manage tenancy conditions, nuisance, and ASB.
  • Gather evidence, collect witness statements, and attend court when required.
  • Monitor rent arrears and take action to prevent Council debt.
  • Conduct home visits, tenancy audits, estate/block inspections, and monitor cleaning contracts.
  • Handle successions, assignments, abandoned property investigations, transfers, and mutual exchanges.
  • Manage lettings: advertising, shortlisting, viewings, and sign-ups.
  • Review Introductory Tenancies quarterly.
  • Attend resident involvement activities, including some evenings.
  • Travel across the district and respond to same-day visit requests.
