Abeona Housing Co-operative is a small, fully mutual housing co-op based in the Gospel Oak and Fleet Road area of North London. We provide secure, affordable homes for our members across 44 flats, mostly studio and one-bedroom properties, with a few larger family units.
As a resident-led organisation, Abeona is governed by its members through an elected Management Committee and supported by a small part-time team, including Finance and Maintenance professionals. Together, we ensure our homes are well‑managed, our policies are fair and transparent, and that members have an active voice in how the Co‑op is run.
Governance and oversight are provided by our Management, Finance, and Maintenance Committees, working closely with a part-time Finance Officer and Maintenance Manager.
We are currently strengthening our operational systems and preparing for a significant refurbishment and compliance programme across our buildings.
We are seeking a skilled freelance Housing Manager to consolidate Abeona’s housing operations, governance and compliance capacity. The contractor will maintain robust policies and procedures, ensure legal and regulatory compliance, and support committees to deliver high‑quality housing services and property improvement projects.
This engagement is ideal for an experienced housing professional or consultant who values flexible, part‑time work with a close‑knit co‑operative.
Please send your CV and a supporting statement outlining how you meet the person specification to info@abeona.org with the subject line “Housing Manager Application” by 1st December 2025.
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to interview and may be asked to complete a short written exercise.
Interviews: Shortlisted candidates will be invited with at least one week’s notice. Early interviews may be arranged on request.
Abeona Housing Co‑operative welcomes applications from people of all backgrounds and is committed to equality, diversity, and inclusion in housing. Please let us know if you have any access needs during the application process.
