Are you passionate about supporting your community and creating welcoming, safe spaces for local residents? We’re looking for a proactive and customer-focused Community Centre Assistant to join our team.

In this varied and hands-on role, you will play a key part in the smooth, day-to-day running of our community centres. Your work will ensure that all users enjoy a positive experience in a well‑maintained, safe, and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Travelling weekly to centres across our portfolio to carry out and record Health & Safety and building compliance checks.
  • Using IT systems to report repairs, manage bookings and maintain accurate records.
  • Setting up rooms based on booking requirements, including arranging furniture and preparing technical equipment.
  • Preparing and setting up refreshments for centre users.
  • Carrying out general cleaning, tidying, and light maintenance tasks.
  • Providing friendly, professional customer support to all centre visitors and users.
  • Opening and closing buildings, including working some evenings and weekends as required.
About You
  • A passionate, positive attitude with excellent customer service skills.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal abilities.
  • Previous experience in a caretaking, facilities, or similar customer‑facing role, with good knowledge of Health & Safety compliance.
  • A flexible and organised approach to work, with the ability to prioritise tasks effectively.
  • Good IT skills and confidence using Microsoft Office and in‑house systems.
