Job summary

Bupa UK is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant on a bank basis at Havering Court Care Home in Romford. You will be responsible for keeping the home clean, tidy and well-maintained, ensuring residents’ areas and bedrooms are cared for to a high standard.

Role involves multitasking across housekeeping tasks, stocking supplies, and supporting the housekeeping team. This position is part-time, offering ongoing opportunities to contribute to a welcoming home for residents.

Havering Court delivers 24-hour care for those joining us for short stays and long-term nursing, residential and rehabilitation care. We also support people living with complex needs, physical disabilities, respiratory and neurological conditions, such as multiple sclerosis, Parkinson’s and acquired or traumatic brain injuries.

Havering Court is set in a peaceful, woodland setting, off the main road. The home has good transport links with a regular bus route stopping directly outside the home, not to mention easy access to the A12/ M25.

Havering Court has comfortable ensuite bedrooms and well-furnished lounge areas where residents can relax and socialise. The home benefits from lots of outside space for family and friends to use whenever they come to visit.

There’s a real sense of community at Havering Court. The staff work to discover what residents enjoy doing and the home's social calendar is organised around those interests.

There are lots of exciting activities to get involved in. There’s never a dull moment, the care home puts on lots of activities that everyone can join in with if they wish and the activities are just as much fun for staff as it is for residents.

Enjoying food is an important part of life. Soon after a resident arrives at Havering Court, staff discuss personal preferences and dietary needs.

You’ll Help Us Make Health Happen By

• You’ll be responsible for maintaining high standards of cleanliness within the home, working closely with our other housekeeping and maintenance staff
• Always ensuring our residents are kept happy, you will vacuum, mop floors, polish and generally ensure the up-keep of all communal areas and our resident’s bedrooms
• You’ll maintain housekeeping stocks for day to day use and raise any issues to the Housekeeping Supervisor as you go

Key Skills / Qualifications Needed For This Role

You take pride in ensuring your work is always completed to a high standard and can maintain an organised environment. Often managing multiple requests at once, you’ll be comfortable multitasking and where necessary, working with other teams to ensure our residents are kept happy in their home.
