Vita Student in Sheffield is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant to maintain high standards across resident studios and communal areas. You will follow cleaning schedules, dust, vacuum and sanitise, ensuring spaces are clean, safe and welcoming for a diverse student community.

Responsibilities

• Dust, vacuum, sanitize surfaces, make beds and keep studios clean and presentable.
• Deliver an exceptional housekeeping service maintaining high standards of cleanliness and comfort.
• Identify and report maintenance issues to keep studios safe and welcoming.
• Build positive relationships with residents and respond to housekeeping queries.
• Record completed cleans using mobile technology with photographic records.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with inventory management of cleaning supplies.
• Follow health and safety procedures and COSHH regulations at all times.
• Assist in presenting shared spaces to maintain premium living standards.

Housekeeping Assistant, Sheffield

Morning & Daytime Shift Patterns & Duties

Hourly Rate: £13.45 plus generous benefits (please see below).

Contract: Permanent, part-time. A minimum commitment of 20 hours per week

Required Days of Work: Between Monday - Friday, flexibility is required throughout the week

Working Hours: Varied shift patterns, between the hours of 10am - 6pm.

Overtime: We offer overtime opportunities to support both planned and unplanned shift cover. These additional hours help us maintain the exceptional service and support our residents expect.

Vita Student’s Housekeeping Assistant

Help create the five-star living experience Vita Student is known for by maintaining beautifully presented resident studios. Following designated cleaning schedules, duties include dusting, vacuuming, sanitising surfaces, making beds and ensuring every space remains clean, healthy and ready for residents to feel at home.

• Deliver an exceptional and personalised housekeeping service, ensuring resident studios are maintained to Vita Student's high standards of cleanliness, comfort and presentation.

• Identify and report maintenance issues within resident apartments, helping to ensure studios remain safe, functional and welcoming.

• Build positive relationships with residents, responding professionally to housekeeping queries and supporting an outstanding resident experience.

• Remain attentive to resident wellbeing, raising any welfare concerns through the appropriate reporting channels.

• Monitor housekeeping stock levels and support inventory management to ensure cleaning supplies are readily available.

• Maintain waste and recycling areas associated with housekeeping operations, ensuring safe and compliant working practices.

• Follow Control of Substances Hazardous to Health (COSHH) regulations and health and safety procedures at all times, ensuring the safe use, storage and handling of cleaning products.

• Support the presentation of shared spaces where required, helping maintain the exceptional standards expected within a premium student living environment.

• Use mobile technology to accurately record completed studio cleans, including photographic records before and after each service.

Professional Experience

• Proven housekeeping experience within hospitality, student accommodation, residential living or other high-volume environments where exceptional standards are expected.

• Strong knowledge of COSHH requirements and safe working practices, consistently maintaining a safe, clean and welcoming environment.

• Comfortable using a range of digital tools and systems to work efficiently and support a seamless resident experience.

• Adaptable, positive and proactive, with a willingness to support changing operational needs.

• Resilient and resourceful, demonstrating sound judgement when responding to unexpected situations.
