Job summary

Trinity House Care Home in Edinburgh is seeking a Housekeeping Assistant. You will keep resident spaces clean, tidy and safe, while assisting with laundry and clothes care. You’ll follow infection control and safety procedures to ensure a welcoming, respectful environment that supports residents’ daily wellbeing.

The role requires attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work well both independently and as part of a team. Prior experience is welcome but not essential.

Trinity House Care Home is a purpose built 55 bed care home located in Edinburgh, providing Residential, Nursing, Dementia and Respite care. The home offers a high quality, boutique style environment where team members deliver person centred care in a comfortable and well supported setting.

Housekeeping Assistant Contract

• £12.71 per hour
• Contracted to 40 hours per week
• Paid PVG, pension, uniform provided
• 5.6 weeks annual leave (based on a full time contract)

Role Overview

As Housekeeping Assistant, you will play a key role in maintaining a clean, safe and welcoming environment while also supporting laundry services. This is a varied, hands on role where your attention to detail and high standards will directly impact comfort, dignity and daily wellbeing.

You will be responsible for cleaning residents’ rooms, bathrooms and communal areas, ensuring all spaces are maintained to a high standard of hygiene and presentation. Alongside this, you will support laundry duties including washing, drying, ironing and returning clothing correctly, ensuring all items are clearly labelled and handled with care.

Working closely with the wider team, you will follow infection control, health and safety and housekeeping procedures, ensuring all tasks are carried out safely and efficiently. Your role will contribute to a well organised and comfortable environment where individuals feel respected and supported.
