Job description
Position Summary

We are looking for an enthusiastic, hardworking housekeeper to join our team on Ward B3 at Poole Hospital. We are committed to providing a high standard of care to our patients and look forward to welcoming a new member to our team.

Please note: if this job requires you to have a DBS check to enable you to properly fulfil the requirements of the job, on appointment you will be required to repay the cost of obtaining a DBS check and this amount will be reclaimed from your salary.

Base Location: Poole

PLEASE NOTE: Ward B3 is due to move to Royal Bournemouth Hospital April/May 2026 - please see further details below

Interview Date: 1st December 2025

Responsibilities
  • Responsible for assisting in the coordination and provision of services to ensure that the ward is a clean, safe and comfortable environment. Provide essential support to patients in fulfilling their dietary and nutritional needs.
  • Ensure that medical equipment is decontaminated prior to being returned to the equipment library.
  • Assist nursing staff in managing patients’ property in accordance with hospital policy.

There is a planned move for this service during Spring 2026, when this role and base of work will relocate to Royal Bournemouth Hospital. Upon relocation of the role/service, excess mileage allowance / reimbursement will not apply, and any travel between the post holder’s home and work base will be classified as a commute. Any other changes unrelated to this, will be handled in line with Trust/National terms and conditions.
