Job description

We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated individual to join our friendly team as a Housekeeper, within the division of Clinical Support and Cancer Services. You should be caring, compassionate, forward thinking, well organized and have a positive attitude towards flexibility and change.

You should be able to work autonomously to deliver a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness in the clinical environment; which includes the Main Outpatient Department, Radiology, Pharmacy and the Mortuary, while continually looking for ways to improve and develop both self and the clinical environment.

You will have a great eye for detail and will assist in achieving the highest possible standard of cleaning set by the Trust to minimize the risk of cross infection to patients, staff and visitors.

You will be responsible for monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards throughout the departments ensuring that patient dignity and privacy is maintained at all times.

Please note that this position may close early due to a high application number of applications.
  • To assist in monitoring and maintaining cleaning standards, conducting regular cleaning quality audits of allocated areas in accordance with the National Standards of Cleanliness Framework.
  • To carry out cleaning to ensure spillages are dealt with quickly and efficiently.
  • To ensure specialist cleaning of surfaces and furnishings.
  • To ensure that staff have adequate materials and that they are of correct type for the job, complying with cleaning schedules, ensuring all cleaning materials and protective clothing provided are used in the correct manner.
  • To ensure that all alcohol gel dispensers, paper towels and soap for hand hygiene are replenished, thus contributing to the prevention of cross infection.
