Job summary

Pennine Care NHS Foundation Trust is looking for a Band 2 Housekeeper to join the team at The Meadows Hospital in Stockport. You will support the ward by delivering high standards of cleanliness and patient comfort on an older adults inpatient ward.

The role involves infection control duties, ward routines, serving meals, stock ordering and keeping rooms tidy. This is a full-time permanent post, with 37.5 hours per week (30 hours can be considered).

Qualifications

  • Good standard of general education
  • Knowledge of cleanliness standards
  • Basic health and safety awareness
  • Previous experience of working on an acute mental health ward, or previous experience working in a domestic or housekeeping role, or previous experience working as a nursing assistant.
  • Monitoring and maintaining stock ordering systems

An opportunity has arisen within the acute services in Stockport for a Band 2 Housekeeper. Saffron Ward is a 23 bed in-patient ward situated within The Meadows Hospital. The ward cares older adults aged 65 and above who are experiencing delirium and other physical and mental health problems. This is a vital role to support the smooth functioning of the ward and you will be part of a thriving team which is committed to providing a high level of quality care to the patients they work with.

Main duties of the job

Working as a member of the ward team you will be involved in a range of housekeeping duties, working in close liaison with the ward manager, in order to ensure that key tasks are effectively managed. This is a key role on the ward and we are looking for a motivated individual to become part of our thriving team.
