Job summary

A health services provider in Swindon is seeking a housekeeper to join their team at Chippenham Community Hospital. This full-time role requires a flexible approach to work with hours from Monday to Friday, 07:00–14:00. Job Summary

We are looking for a housekeeper with a flexible approach to work to join our existing team at Chippenham Community Hospital. This full‑time role involves Monday to Friday, 35 hours per week, 07:00–14:00. You will help ensure all areas are maintained to the highest standards, keeping wards, departments and communal spaces clean, tidy and safe for our staff and patients.

Job Responsibilities
  • Undertake cleaning duties throughout the site, including clinical departments, offices, sanitary and communal areas.
  • Empty, clean and re‑line general and clinical waste bins, segregating waste for disposal to appropriate holding areas.
  • Replenish supplies of soap, toilet rolls, paper towels and other consumables.
  • Perform periodic cleaning maintenance of carpets and other floor surfaces.
  • Maintain departmental records where appropriate, such as cleaning forms and temperature sheets.
  • Occasionally change curtains.
  • Use all equipment and cleaning products in accordance with manufacturers’ instructions.
Person Specification – Qualifications
  • Essential:
    • General educational level of numeracy and literacy
    • Basic food hygiene knowledge or qualification
    • Basic Health and Safety knowledge or qualification
  • Desirable:
    • Control of infection knowledge
    • Cleaning background
    • NHS background
