Overview

This is a superb opportunity for an organised, empathetic and resourceful individual who has a passion for the wellbeing of young people. The House Pastoral Leader is a vital member of the pastoral team, led by the Housemaster/mistress.

The House Pastoral Leader assists with the smooth day‑to‑day running of the House and helps ensure the highest standards of pastoral care are in place.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with the smooth day‑to‑day running of the House.
  • Supervise and provide care for pupils, ensuring their physical, social and emotional well‑being and presentation.
Qualifications
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills, including ability to listen and engage with young people, parents and guardians.
  • Reliable, warm, friendly disposition with sensitivity, tact and diplomacy.
  • Flexible approach, good sense of humour and even temper when dealing with all situations.
  • Commitment to confidentiality and integrity.
Working Hours & Additional Work
  • Term‑time only role: 3 days a week (Wednesday to Friday) from 7:30 am to 5:00 pm.
  • INSET of 3 days per annum.
  • Eligible for 4 weeks of paid overtime.
