Manchester Metropolitan University is recruiting Hourly Paid Tutors to support teaching-related activities across the School of Digital Arts. Roles span disciplines such as Animation, Games Art and Design, Filmmaking, Photography, Future Media Production, Music and Sound Design, UX, and interdisciplinary digital arts.

Candidates will contribute to undergraduate and postgraduate teaching and live project work in collaboration with industry partners.

Hourly Paid Associates/workers (Teaching Related)

We are looking to engage with academic professionals across a wide range of different specialisms on an hourly paid basis. These hours are available on a short term, ad hoc basis providing support to our students through a range of roles. You will have experience in delivering and supporting Higher Education activities, at an undergraduate and postgraduate level, in subject specific and interdisciplinary contexts or have strong relevant industry knowledge and experience. You will have a positive approach and the ability to contribute to a team.

The School of Digital Arts
The School of Digital Arts within Manchester School of Art is a purpose built, interdisciplinary school offering industry and research informed courses and specialist spaces with the latest technologies. Our students study disciplines that span film, animation, UX, photography, games design, games art and more, often working on live projects with industry partners and frequently collaborating with fellow students and researchers. They choose from a flexible mix of courses: foundation year, undergraduate, postgraduate and research degrees that run alongside degree apprenticeships, summer schools and short courses.

We are looking for Hourly Paid Tutors (Teaching Related) to join our SODA teaching Talent Pool across the following disciplines:

• Animation
• Games Art
• Games Design
• Filmmaking
• Photography
• Future Media Production
• Music and Sound Design
• User Experience Design
• Interdisciplinary digital arts

As an Hourly Paid Associate/ Worker in these roles you are required to have:

• Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills.
• The ability to plan and prioritise workload to meet objectives.
• The ability to use initiative when dealing with a wide range of issues and problems, challenging decisions appropriately.
• A degree or appropriate equivalent experience in your subject area, along with knowledge and understanding of the changing nature of HE
