The Bedford College Group seeks an Associate Lecturer - Counselling to join the Health & Social Care department at the Kettering Campus. The role is 6 hours per week, on-site, and paid hourly at £20.50.

This UK-based contract is sessional and ends on 24/07/2026. You will deliver and assess person-centred counselling programmes, provide tutorials and progression support, contribute to schemes of work, and uphold safeguarding and quality standards while developing links with employers and industry

Responsibilities

• Counselling Teaching & Assessment - Deliver and assess person-centred counselling programmes across a range of levels, ensuring learners achieve awarding body standards and develop the knowledge, skills and behaviours required for successful practice.
• Student Support & Progression - Provide individual and group tutorials, monitor learner progress, maintain accurate records, and support students to achieve their potential through targeted guidance and pastoral support.
• Curriculum Development & Innovation - Develop engaging learning resources, review and improve schemes of work, contribute to new programme development, and promote innovative approaches to teaching and learning.
• Quality Assurance & Professional Standards - Undertake assessment, verification and moderation activities, contribute to quality improvement processes, maintain subject expertise, and ensure compliance with awarding body and college requirements.
• Safeguarding, Partnerships & College Engagement - Promote safeguarding, equality and diversity, develop links with employers and industry partners, support student recruitment and marketing activities, and contribute to wider college events and initiatives.
