Job Responsibilities

As Food and Beverage Assistant you'll be responsible for ensuring that guests have a positive, first‑class dining experience. You'll greet guests, take orders, serve food and drinks, and handle payments. You'll maintain a clean and organised dining area, restock supplies, and assist with food preparation as needed while supporting the wider business. Excellent customer service skills and attention to detail are essential for this role. You will always work with Aimbridge's four pillars of Food and Beverage in mind: People, Product, Guest, Performance.

Qualifications
  • Food and Beverage experience isn't essential, but you will be passionate about providing an exceptional guest experience and living through our brand standards.
  • You have strong communication skills and can engage guests in a friendly, professional manner.
  • You can work well in a team and collaborate with other staff members to provide excellent service to guests, being agile in your ability to support colleagues across the hotel.
  • You have attention to detail and can maintain a clean and organised dining area.
  • You are flexible to work varying shifts, including nights, weekends and holidays.

About the Hotel

Mercure Cardiff North Hotel is located in the docklands district of Tiger Bay, 3 miles from Cardiff city centre. The hotel features a copper aesthetic with Welsh love spoons, textiles and miners' hats displayed. It is easily accessible by road, with the M4 close by and on‑site parking available. The hotel offers 11 meeting rooms, a gym, a private bar for up‑to‑150 guest sit‑down dinners, and a restaurant & bar called The Bay that caters to all tastes and provides a relaxed atmosphere for watching live sport.
