Previous hospital experience is not essential, but experience of carrying out similar duties and an understanding of cross-infection issues is desirable.

To undertake cleaning duties across Trust sites as required, ensuring levels of cleanliness meet the National specification for Cleanliness for the NHS.

To work as a member of the Housekeeping team to assist with daily tasks required to maintain the environment's cleanliness.
To provide routine information to colleagues, ward/clinic/theatre staff, and supervisors.
To make judgments involving straightforward facts or situations, such as investigating delivery shortages, reporting equipment failure, and stock issues.
To organize your daily work tasks to ensure cleanliness levels are achieved and documentation is completed for Trust patients, staff, and visitors.
To comply with all Trust policies, Infection Prevention protocols, and Health and Safety requirements.
To ensure the safe use and cleanliness of all work equipment, such as vacuums, Rangers, and scrubber/dryers, following standard operating procedures.
To explain and demonstrate duties to new starters.
To monitor and report on stock levels, ensuring proper storage in line with COSHH.
To record information to ensure compliance with Infection Prevention protocols.
To participate in cleanliness audits and Trust surveys.
To work within defined procedures using own initiative on routine matters, with supervision available.
To wear full uniform and maintain personal appearance and hygiene to a standard appropriate for the role.
