Job summary

DoubleTree by Hilton Glasgow Central is seeking a Casual Public Area Cleaner to join our Housekeeping team in Glasgow city centre. You will be responsible for maintaining high cleanliness standards across lobby, corridors, lifts and back-of-house areas, with duties including regular deep-cleaning, sanitising toilets and reporting faults.

The role requires flexibility to cover early mornings, evenings and weekends in a fast-paced hotel environment.

Qualifications

• Previous cleaning experience, ideally in hotels.
• Excellent attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
• Ability to multitask and stay calm under pressure.
• Strong organisational and time-management skills.
• Able to work independently and manage workload.
• Reliable, flexible and positive attitude.
• Willing to work a variety of shifts including mornings, evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities

• Clean and maintain lobby, corridors, lifts, toilets, and back-of-house areas.
• Check high-traffic areas and respond quickly to cleaning needs.
• Vacuum corridors, stairs, and carpeted areas.
• Complete scheduled deep-cleaning tasks.
• Sanitise and replenish public toilets during shifts.
• Follow health and safety procedures; report issues promptly.
• Assist with bedroom cleaning during evening shifts.
• Support the housekeeping team during busy events.
