Job summary

John Lewis Partnership seeks a Hotel Leisure Assistant to deliver consistently high standards of guest service and maintain cleanliness across the hotel. You will be a friendly ambassador, resolving guest queries at first contact and supporting other departments to ensure an unrivalled guest experience.

This part-time role offers shifts on weekends and varies by pattern. You will handle payments, follow safety protocols, and contribute to continuous improvements within the department.

Qualifications

• Basic IT literacy and experience with POS systems.
• Strong verbal and written communication, with a customer-first approach.

Responsibilities

• Provide warm, friendly guest service and resolve queries at first contact.
• Handle payments in line with hotel standards.
• Assist with cleaning duties and department maintenance.
• Follow health and safety procedures; wear PPE as required.
• Support other hotel areas and relax shifts as needed.
• Take direction from team leaders and hotel leadership.

About the role

As a Hotel Leisure Assistant you will ensure consistently high standards of Customer service & cleanlines. You will provide excellent, friendly guest service and offer flexible support to other hotel departments, thereby ensuring an unrivalled guest experience and contributing to the profitable operation and achievement of business objectives for the individual, team, and hotel.

Key Responsibilities

• Being a brand ambassador by being a warm and friendly Partner who provides a consistently outstanding customer experience that is unrivalled in the marketplace.
• Resolving guest queries/complaints at the first point of contact.
• Interacting with guests, sharing product knowledge
• Payment handling in accordance with hotel standards.
• Supporting the implementation of changes to ensure continuous innovations and improvements are made within the department.
• Cleaning duties carried out in the departments
• Safe use of tools, chemicals, wearing correct PPE
• Supporting other areas of the hotel operation, when required.
• Taking direction from the Team leader, and Hotel leadership team, maintaining strict health and safety standards.
• Supporting the implementation of changes to ensure continuous innovations and improvements are made within the department.

Essential skills/experience you'll need

• Self-motivated and industrious, with a natural flair for guest service and a keen interest in hospitality.
• Basic knowledge of IT & POS systems and able to use standard software.
• Excellent communication skills

Desirable skills/experience you'll need

• Proven experience of the hospitality industry is desirable.

Part Time, there are three shift patterns available: Shift 1 - Saturday 08:00-14:00 & alternate Sunday 10:00-16:00, Shift 2 - Saturday 12:30-20:30 and Shift 3 Sunday 14:00-22:00
