Job summary

Premier Inn in Carlisle is hiring a Kitchen Team Member to help prepare, cook and serve meals that guests will enjoy during their stay.

You’ll work as part of a busy kitchen, handling breakfast and dinner service, receiving deliveries, keeping stock, and ensuring every plate leaves the kitchen looking right. This is a permanent role with guaranteed hours; no hotel experience is required—just reliability, teamwork and a willingness to learn, with shifts including evenings and weekends.

Kitchen Team Member – Premier Inn

This isn’t just about cooking.

You’ll help prepare, cook and serve meals that become part of someone’s stay at Premier Inn because a good meal can make a great stay even better.

One minute you could be preparing breakfast before guests wake up. The next you’ll be helping the team through a busy dinner service.

Pay, hours and location

Pay: Up to £13.06 per hour

Contract:Permanent – we don’t do zero-hours contracts.

Hours: 20 contracted hours per week.

Location: Walkmill Crescent, Carlisle, Cumbria, CA1 2WF

Shifts:Includes evenings, weekends and busy guest periods.

What you’ll do

As a Kitchen Team Member you’ll help make sure every guest gets a meal they’ll enjoy. You’ll:

• Prepare ingredients before service starts

This isn't a role where you’ll spend your shift hidden in the back washing up.

You’ll be part of a team that’s working together to deliver the meals our guests rely on.

You don’t need hotel experience

Some of our best Kitchen Team Members joined us from supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants, warehouses and customer service jobs.

If you’re willing to learn, we’ll teach you the rest.

You might have worked as a:

• Catering Assistant
• Barista
• Kitchen Porter
• Retail Assistant
• Warehouse Operative

This could be your first kitchen job or you may have worked in hospitality before.

What matters most is that you're reliable, enjoy working with others and don’t mind rolling your sleeves up when things get busy.
