Job summary

Premier Inn in Cambridge is hiring a Kitchen Team Member to prepare, cook and serve meals for guests. This role supports breakfast and dinner service, helping keep the kitchen clean and organised.

You'll work as part of a busy team, with shifts including evenings and weekends. No hotel experience required – we’ll teach you everything you need and offer permanent contracts with guaranteed hours and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience in fast-paced kitchen would be helpful but not required.
• Able to work as part of a team and follow instructions.
• Willingness to learn and develop routine kitchen tasks.

Responsibilities

We're currently recruiting in our Cambridge City East Premier Inn. Working 20 hours per week, paying up to £13.06 per hour.

Kitchen Team Member – Cambridge City East Premier Inn

This Isn’t Just About Cooking.

You’ll help prepare, cook and serve meals that become part of someone’s stay at Premier Inn because a good meal can make a great stay even better.

One minute you could be preparing breakfast before guests wake up. The next you’ll be helping the team through a busy dinner service.

Pay, hours and location

Pay: Up to £13.06 per hour

Contract: Permanent – we don’t do zero-hours contracts.

Hours: 20 contracted hours per week.

Location: Cambridge City East Premier Inn - Newmarket Road, Cambridge, Cambridgeshire, CB1 3EP

Shifts: Includes evenings, weekends and busy guest periods.

What You’ll Do

As a Kitchen Team Member you’ll help make sure every guest gets a meal they’ll enjoy. You’ll:

• Prepare ingredients before service starts
• Cook and plate meals during breakfast and dinner service
• Help keep the kitchen clean, organised and ready for the next rush
• Receive deliveries and keep stock where it should be
• Work closely with the hotel team so service runs smoothly
• Help make sure every meal leaves the kitchen looking right

This isn't a role where you’ll spend your shift hidden in the back washing up.

You’ll be part of a team that’s working together to deliver the meals our guests rely on.

You Don’t Need Hotel Experience

Some of our best Kitchen Team Members joined us from supermarkets, cafés, pubs, restaurants, warehouses and customer service jobs.

If you’re willing to learn, we’ll teach you the rest.

You Might Have Worked As a

This could be your first kitchen job or you may have worked in hospitality before.
