Job summary

Whitbread, London Sutton Premier Inn, is seeking a Kitchen Team Leader to run the kitchen daily, manage rotas, place orders and lead the team through peak services in Sutton.

You will own food quality and hygiene, work closely with the Hotel Manager, and build skills toward a Head Chef role within the Whitbread network. This hands-on leadership role supports career progression in hospitality.

Qualifications

• Experience leading kitchen teams.
• Ability to manage rotas and orders.
• Aiming to progress toward Head Chef within Whitbread’s UK hospitality network.

Responsibilities

• Own food ordering, stock control and keep food costs on track for the hotel.
• Take the lead during service – organise the team, manage workflow, ensure smooth operations.
• Prepare, cook and serve menu items to spec, from Premier Inn breakfasts to pub classics.
• Ensure kitchen health, safety and hygiene standards are met; keep records up to date.
• Step up when needed – run shifts and help new team members settle in.
• Learn kitchen management to be ready for more senior roles within Whitbread.

We're currently recruiting in our London Sutton Premier Inn. Working 30 hours per week, paying up to £14.81 per hour.

Kitchen Team Leader – London Sutton – Premier Inn

Join our team at Premier Inn London Sutton as a Kitchen Team Leader and move your Chef career forward. You’ll run the kitchen day to day – managing rotas, placing food orders, leading the team through busy services, and keeping everything audit-ready. Working closely with your Hotel Manager, you’ll take full ownership of the kitchen – from food quality to hygiene. It’s a hands‑on leadership role that’s perfect for anyone ready to build the skills to become a Head Chef.
