About the Role

An outstanding opportunity has arisen for an accomplished Hotel Financial Controller to join a stunning country house hotel set on the beautiful south coast of Hampshire.

As Financial Controller, you will take full ownership of the hotel's management accounts, financial reporting, and cash flow while leading and developing a small on-site finance team (1 direct report). Working closely with the General Manager and senior leadership team, you will provide clear financial insight to support operational performance, cost control, and profitability across the business.

This is a hands-on, commercially focused role, ideal for a qualified hospitality finance professional who thrives in a dynamic environment and wants to make a real impact in a prestigious, independent property.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparation and ownership of monthly, quarterly, and annual management accounts.
  • Cash flow management, forecasting, and budgeting for all hotel operations.
  • Provide accurate and timely financial analysis to support strategic and operational decisions.
  • Ensure compliance with statutory requirements and internal controls.
  • Manage a small finance team (1 direct report) and oversee payroll and purchase ledger processes.
  • Liaise with auditors, external partners, and the group finance function where applicable.
  • Partner with department heads to optimise performance and maintain cost efficiency.
Candidate Profile
  • Previous experience as a Hotel Financial Controller (essential).
  • CIMA / ACCA qualified or actively studying towards final qualification.
  • Strong understanding of hotel systems, controls, and financial processes.
  • Excellent analytical, organisational, and communication skills.
  • Hands-on, detail-oriented approach with strong leadership ability.
  • Able to commute to the New Forest area of Hampshire.
  • Confident, proactive, and commercially astute with a genuine passion for hospitality.
