Job description

Hotel Cook – MOXY Southampton

Position Type: Full time contract. Gross Salary: £28,860 per year.

We are looking for someone to work in our kitchen operation at Moxy Southampton. We are a busy hotel where guests are looking for quick but nutritious meals.

You don’t need to be a chef but you do need a passion for food, be organised, and be able to work under pressure.

Experience with Merry chefs would be advantageous but not essential as training will be given.

Primary Tasks & Responsibilities

• Prepare food using Merry chefs
• Present food in line with brand standards
• Preparation, set‑up, service, clean up and restocking of the appropriate prep areas
• Place food orders and ensure food cost is in line with budgets
• Restock, take deliveries, plan orders, and organize BOH areas
• Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen area
• Full ownership of FIFO system (first in first out) of food items
• Follow all food safety policies to work safely
• Food handling according to HACCP regulations (product rotation, temperature maintenance and record keeping, storage procedures etc.)
• Have a positive attitude and create a buzz in the kitchen
