Job summary

NHS Professionals Limited is recruiting a Pharmacy Technician for Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust to join the NUH Pharmacy Team across Nottingham City Hospital. You will provide professional technical support, dispensation, labelling and accuracy checking while promoting high standards of patient care.

You will cover rotations across campuses, contribute to safe handling of specialist medicines, and deputise for Team Leaders as needed, in a role that supports the wider Pharmacy Team

Qualifications

• Registered GPhC Pharmacy Technician or equivalent.
• Experience with hospital dispensing and accuracy checking desirable.
• Experience with pharmacy IT systems and stock management.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice to patients and carers regarding medicines to promote safe use.
• Respond to enquiries from patients, carers and healthcare staff, referring complex matters appropriately.
• Manage pharmaceutical stock across allocated areas, including ordering, receipt, issuing and stock checks.
• Support induction and training of new staff, acting as a positive role model.
• Coordinate dispensary staff tasks and deputise for Lead Technicians when required.
• Undertake specialist pharmaceutical manufacturing activities, including total parenteral nutrition, chemotherapy, cytotoxic and intrathecal preparations, with QA checks.
